Our farm

We grow wheat, caraway, thistle, oats, spelled, peas and other crops. After processing, flour, flakes or beer from our grain as well as meat from our farm reach your table.

We do everything in such a way that we can enjoy eating porridge from our own oats or soup from peas that we grow. As best we can. It is important for us to monitor the honest quality of the raw materials and at the same time to be considerate of the plants and the soil, which is why we have all our own, new and modern machines. We also store what we grow ourselves.

Today the Farm manages approximately 1100 ha of arable land and 300 ha of permanent grassland.

Our quality is checked by environmental organizations every year. We regularly prove that we farm with respect for nature, and their certificates are rightfully adorning our wall. They are awarded to us by Abcert and the Swiss organization Bio Suisse, whose quality requirements are among the strictest in Europe.

Farm history

The first mentions of the farm come from 1651, when the first owner of the land was Jan Beuml. From historical sources we know that he kept: 4 oxen, 3 cows, 6 heifers, 11 sheep and 6 pigs. He farmed on 3.42 ha. The estate had the obligation to pay tithes (one roof of rye and oats) to the local Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.

In 1740, his grandson Jan Flor, the first Starosedlecky mayor, his daughter Margareta married Martin Kasperl. The Kasperl family were the owners of the land until the year. The last owner from the Kasper family was Georg. In the general chronicle, the grunt is mentioned:

"The farmhouse "U Markraběte" has had a shop with bottled beer for several years. The name "Markrabě" differs from other folk names and gives him the privilege of a defined owner, as he has all the land united into several larger parcels and refers to ancient ownership. The father of the current owner, Simon Kasperl, was a true old-fashioned farmer, diligent, thrifty and known for his farming.

In 1945, the Černý family came to the farm and farmed there until the 60s, when they were forcibly evicted. The estate was returned to the Černý family in the 1990s.

The modern history of the peasants, landowners of the "Černý family" began to be written on the old ground in 2008 until the present day. We hope to start a new tradition and continue farming on our children's farm.

Today, the Farm manages approximately 1100 ha of arable land and 300 ha of permanent grassland.
